A virtual tour for children of the exhibition of Uroš Predić’s paintings in the Matica Srpska Gallery, guided by the gallery’s education officer. St Sava Church Sunday School
The first tour will be conducted in Serbian and a week later there will be a tour in English. The timing of the second tour is yet to be confirmed.
The gallery’s education officer will guide the children through the exhibition, with guiding being adapted to the age of the children.
Each child will receive in PDF format a fantastic interactive picture book ‘Once Upon a Time’ by the artist Uroš Predić, in Serbian and English. The number of participants is not limited, all children – including those who do not attend the St Sava Church Sunday School – are welcome to join. For further details contact:

Please join our event with writers Lebrecht Gaspar from Belgrade and Dr Jelena Nolan-Roll from Bristol, together with special guests, who will include, Dr Jana Baćević, an academic from Durham and Darija Petrović-Lubanska, a therapist from Bristol. We will address living and creating the stories in and of the diaspora and the challenges and inspirations of being part of the diaspora world. We might invite you to contribute to the event with your stories or lived experiences.
Lebrecht Gaspar or Živojin Ivković is an award-winning author, president of Serbian Society of Independent Writers, and an Editor-in-Chief of the magazine “Literary verticals” (Književne vertikale). Dr Jelena Nolan-Roll is Serbo-Irish author, psychologist and violence prevention activist, whose first novel “O Blokovima se priča” was recently published in Serbia and the first edition sold out straight away. Dr Jana Baćević, Assistant Professor from University of Durham, is an “social and political theorist who studies, writes, and thinks – not necessarily in that order – about how we, as humans, acquire, organize, classify, and process knowledge, both about our surroundings and about ourselves.” ( Darija Petrovic-Lubanska is therapist and psychologist whose work has a special focus on expat community. The screening will be followed by a talk by Dr Bojan Aleksov, Associate Professor at UCL, School of Slavonic and East European Studies. Dr Aleksov will provide the historical context of the Holocaust in Serbia, where the fate of Jews was closely entwined with that of the Serbs and Roma. Twin Cities: Celebrating Mihailović’s Centenary

Marking the 100th birthday of artist Milorad-Bata Mihailović with a celebration of Coventry and Belgrade’s city twinning relationship.

Join us to celebrate the 100th birthday of world-renowned Serbian artist Milorad-Bata Mihailović (1923-2011) with a special anniversary talk and viewing of his “Belgrade” painting at the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum. Led by our Curatorial Manager Martin Roberts, the talk will explore the artist’s life and the history behind the painting, which was gifted to the city of Coventry in the 1950s.

Belgrade, in Serbia is one of Coventry’s 26 twin cities worldwide. Pioneered by Coventry, the twinning project began in the aftermath of the Second World War as a means of promoting international peace and reconciliation. Coventry and Belgrade formally twinned in 1957, having enjoyed a close and fruitful relationship since 1950.
