Orchestra of the Swan – Night Music
Craig Ogden – guitar & Miloš Milivojević – classical accordion
Warwick Hall, Myton Road, Warwick CV34 6PP
From the entertaining brilliance of Mozart’s Eine Kleine Nachtmusik to the breathtaking symphonic romanticism of Tchaikovsky’s Serenade, Night Music explores the astonishingly varied sound world of the string orchestra. Piazzolla’s brooding and hypnotic textures provide the perfect foil for the tango stylings of guitar and accordion, a combination that so readily conjures the alleyways and basement clubs of 1950s Buenos Aires.

Guitarist/composer Branco Stoysin, life-long aficionado of Nikola Tesla, will be performing his epic new music/video project Aurora Tesla, that in the most lyrical, illuminating and concise way tells the story about Nikola Tesla, Serbian born genius of electricity. It’s a poignant tribute, marking 170 years since the birth of Nikola Tesla and 130 years since the birth of modern civilisation with the implementation of Tesla’s Polyphase Alternating Current System on The Niagara Falls in 1896. Every pylon, everywhere around the world, carries Tesla’s blood, The Electricity, to lighten your existence.
Branco will also play the tunes from his previous eight CD albums and from his recent, triple anniversary, the ninth CD album, Whispers From The Sun, which marked 40 years of art-music making, of those 30 years in London. As an avid photographer and naturalist, for the finale of recital, Branco will perform special three music/video projects depicting the beautiful natural world right on our doorsteps. A recital for an audio and visual delight.

Led by award-winning writer Ella Dorman-Gajic, join us for this unique storytelling and writing workshop exploring the concept of diaspora and cultural heritage.
During this 80-minute workshop, you will be encouraged to explore your cultural upbringing or family history through the written and spoken word. You will be encouraged to share a story on your own family history, and there will be writing exercises to help you generate ideas and new work on the theme. By the end, you will have generated at least one first draft – such as a poem, short story, or monologue – for you to take away and build on.
This workshop is designed for anyone who has heritage outside of the UK, or considers themselves part of a diaspora. You don’t need to have any writing experience to attend. However, we encourage you to come to the workshop with a short true-life story in mind. There will be time at the end to share some of what you have written, if you choose to do so.
Entrance £5 at the door, further details and booking: ella.dorman.g@gmail.com
